Touring the Compact Executive Way
The 3-series has been BMW’s entry level executive compact since 1975. Starting with the E21 and ending with the most recent F30 (F31 for touring), the 3 has quite a solid history.
Unfortunately, the E21 wasn’t available in 5-door touring form. The first 3-series wagon was the E30. The next was the E36 touring (not available in the U.S.).
Luckily the E46 was imported into the U.S. The one shown above has the ZHP Performance Package. E91 was 4th 3-Series to be available in touring form, the one shown above as a diesel.
And BMW just recently announce their newest 3-series (F31) touring and thank the touring gods, it will come to the U.S.
Out of all the great 3-Series tourers, which is your favorite?
