William C. Durant, the founder of General Motors, purchased his first automobile company, Buick (which was called Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company at the time) from James M. Whiting who enlisted Durant to make the company profitable and in 1908 Durant incorporated Buick Auto-Vim as the Buick Motor Company. David Dunbar Buick had previously sold the company to Whiting.

While some may have heard of the record breaking 928 Kurzer Strecke by 928 Motorsports, this is the Rekordwagen, which was the world’s fastest Porsche 928 in 2011 at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The car was specifically built for the flats and hit an astounding 216.6 mph.
