Poppy’s Red Horse
This 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe has had spa treatment with a ground up restoration using all genuine Ford parts sometime in the 1990s and hasn’t seen a drop of rain or snow since then. Better yet, it was originally a California car, so rust is non-existent.
Going back to Cali… the car began its life black, but sometime after my friend’s pop got a hold of it, he decided it was time for a restoration done the right way, and a color change. He made it a horse of a different color from straight black to “Poppy Red,” which is an original Ford color of the time. The color has red in its name and it looks red in pictures, but on a sunny day, you wouldn’t be lying if you called it deep orange.
To compliment the luscious body paint, the interior is a classy white leather. As a complete package, the deep orange and soft white is nothing less than tasty.
Here are the details…
About 56k original miles, 289 Cobra V8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, A/C, power steering, power brakes, cassette, am/fm stereo.
The car is looked after dearly and you can basically eat off the engine. Always garaged and gets started up regularly. Poppy got a brand new toy and needs the space, so this old horse needs a new home. Rightfully so, because it deserves more use.
Asking $18k.
It’s located in Cold Spring, NY. Send me a message if you, or someone you know, might be interested.

Neefgeefd: 1965 Rambler American 330 wagon.
Certainly not fast, but I’ve had it since I was 15.  I’m 22 now, and sometime down the road I want to give it a well deserved restoration!
Sweet wagon! I always enjoy a pre-70s wagon. They had so much more style and sportiness than the panel wagons of the 70s & 80s.
Almost 50 years old now, and looks like it’s still going strong. Thanks!
