Q:What are your thoughts on the new Volkswagen Beetle TDI? My mom got one years ago and it has had its mechanical issues and I'm wondering if the new ones are worth the price and if they are reliable. I love the design and the gas mileage for the TDI but Volkswagen seems like they make shitty cars anymore..

Yeah VW is infamous for electrical/fiddly issues. I’d say hold off on the new new beetle until more info comes in from owners. I’m sure there are a ton of forums on the new new beetle though. Btw, I agree with you on the design, much better!
